Key to Treating Type-1 Diabetes is to identify whether or not your child has Type-1 Diabetes.
Here are a list of symptoms to check for.
If your child has any of these problems, it is a good idea to check their blood glucose levels.
Frequent Urination: The excess amounts of glucose in the blood is filtered by the kidneys, due to this, the child needs to use the washroom more often.
Losing weight without any reason: Weight loss is an important feature. If a child is losing weight without any decrease in food intake or without any increase in activity, it's a good idea to take a test. There could be other reasons for such weight loss but blood glucose levels have to be checked.
Frequent Infections: If a child is falling sick frequently, then its likely his immunity has come down due to high blood glucose levels.
Excess tiredness: Due to lack of insulin in the body, when your child's blood glucose levels are high, the cells are incapable of taking in glucose and utilising it to produce energy. Due to this, your child may feel tired often.
